Tendonitis, or tendinitis, is among the most common musculoskeletal problems that people experience, causing more than 70,000 people to miss work each year.
How can you successfully treat my tendonitis?
The first thing your chiropractor will do is rule out any other cause of pain, including bursitis or arthritis. This is accomplished through the use of diagnostic X-rays, CAT scans, or MRIs. Once tendonitis is diagnosed, a comprehensive treatment plan is created to support and brace the area during healing, loosen the tendon, and promote the growth of scar tissue, which will help properly bond the tissues back together.
Treatment techniques may include ultrasound, ice, rest, bracing, electrical (TENS) stimulation, physical therapy, and joint manipulation. What are the symptoms of tendonitis?

What causes tendonitis?
Tendonitis occurs when a tendon (which connects bone to muscle) is overused and becomes damaged and/or inflamed. It may be caused by a sudden injury, but is much more likely to stem from the repetitive overuse of a particular muscle. Most people who develop tendonitis have a job or hobby that involves repetitious motions, which puts stress on the tendons involved.
